Bar & Kitchen Par Stock Level Calculator

How this tool works

Enter each item's average daily usage, how many days between deliveries, and a safety stock buffer. The tool works out a reorder point, a par level to hold, and how much to order today from your current stock on hand.

Reorder Point vs Par Level

The reorder point is the minimum stock needed to survive until the next delivery. The par level sits above that, adding a safety buffer so a busy period or a late delivery does not leave you short.

Getting Usage Rate Right

Base usage per day on a recent average, not a single quiet or busy day. Seasonal items may need separate par levels for peak and off-peak periods rather than one figure used year round.

Safety Stock Buffer

Set a larger safety stock in days for items with unreliable suppliers, long lead times, or highly variable demand. Fast-moving, reliably-supplied items can usually run a smaller buffer, freeing up cash and storage space.

Overstocking Has a Cost Too

Stock sitting well above par ties up cash, takes up storage, and for perishables increases wastage risk. Use the overstocked flag to review whether a par level or delivery frequency needs adjusting, not just to top up the items below par.
